Seville, Sep 2 (EFE) – The Seville Red Cross Avenue in Seville has opened Friday to pedestrian traffic once they have completed the phases of the works for the renovation of supply and sanitation networks and paving, included in the LIFE Watercool project for adaptation to climate change of the European Union and that makes this area of the capital of Seville in an urban “laboratory” against climate change.<\/p>\n

The work will continue on this road until the end of the year, during which time sections will be released and opened to vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic in a progressive and compatible with the progress of the works being executed, as has been revealed during the visit to the works of the mayor of Seville, Antonio Mu\u00f1oz (PSOE).<\/p>\n

The transformation of Avenida de la Cruz Roja in the framework of the Life Watercool project, which has led the water company Emasesa and in which Alten, EFEverde of the EFE Agency, the University of Seville and the City Council have participated, has had a budget of 7.2 million euros and European funding through the EU LIFE program.<\/p>\n
